Sadie

Sadie - Queen of the House
Within a few days of losing our first cat Flash we knew we wanted and needed to have another cat in our home. Of course we wanted the new cat to be as close in appearance to Flash as possible, short hair, gray color and female.
We contacted a local rescue and they told us they had a kitten that just might meet our requirements. They were boarding this cat at a vet in West Los Angeles and I could come down and check her out.
I drove down, Linda couldn’t make it to meet the kitten. Linda’s parting words were “don’t bring anything home until I can see it first”.
After waiting a few minutes they brought out this long-haired gray kitten with the biggest eyes I have ever seen. She was almost like the Owl in the Pussycat. I picked her up and I swear they had sent her to kitty adoption school, because the moment I picked her up, she wrapped her paws around my neck and licked my ear. That was the first and last time she has ever done that but it was enough. I was in love.
I called Linda and told her that she needed to come down immediately because this kitten wouldn’t be available for long. Evidently something in my voice told her everything she needed to hear because Linda told me if I thought the cat was right, I should bring her home. A quick transaction and Sadie was on her way to her new home.
Sadie is 15 now and in firm control as Queen of the House. She is a prim and proper lady but occasionally also lives up the the title Marquesa de Sadie.
We lost Sadie to Lymphoma on Monday May 17, 2010 after a 5 month battle. Rest in peace sweet Sadie. We miss you so much.
